Boxcar wood flooring. Boxcar floor generally comes in oak or maple 8 9 feet long 12 inches wide and 2 1 4 inches thick. All reusable parts are removed to be rebuilt the steel is scrapped and i purchase the wood floors. Each board is either oak or hickory both hardwoods. They are all tongue and groove and have the holes left in the top from the bolts that held them in.
Most boards are approximately 8 ft and a small amount are 9 ft plus. These oak or maple planks were used as the original flooring in railroad boxcars and were removed when the railroad car was decommissioned. Recovered from a 1968 car with plank dimensions of 87 x 12 x 2 25 or 21 75 sq ft and suitable for a 36x84 top. This rustic wood has traveled the rails of america for decades and wears the story of its life on its surface.
These planks are beautifully worn from years of use and their size and thickness make them ideal for residential or commercial use as table tops bar tops islands benches shelving and more. It is 8ft long 12 wide and 2 25 thick. It has a rich color with beautiful character marks as well as natural distressing that many attempt to replicate. I sell it to architects builders furniture makers restaurants and bars etc.
New large batch of maple oak hickory pine boxcar flooring. These unfinished oak planks are tongue and groove construction and still wear the original varnish top coat. Some tongue and groove damage is possible due to the removal process but considered a grade planks. This beautiful wood is 100 years old and is reclaimed from the flooring of old boxcars.
